H1N1 hits the schools
e mërkurë, 24 qershor 20096:33 e paradites

Republic Polytechnic has 2 confirmed cases now. SCARY.

What Republic Polytechnic says:

3 classes had been asked to be quarantined at home for 7 days and their classroom had been cleaned and locked up.

My Response:

why did they locked up the room even after they cleaned up?? the germs will still escape from the tiny hole right??!! wahahahahas. the germs arent going to say *knock knock, xcuseme xcuseme... can u let me out of this room* -..- the school is so damn funny lahs.

--- some of my opinion ---

What Republic Polytechnic say:

Rumours started to spread internally among staff and/or affected students before the RP official announcement was made at 12.17pm. Several forum threads had begun as early as 10.37am and 10.53am in SGclub and Hardwarezone (22 June 2009), respectively. News spread like wild fire as they say.

Republic wants the students to refrain from confirming unofficially or disclosing information on forums or any public/social media, because everyone in RP is an ambassador. Failing to do so only serves to undermine RP's good name and reputation externally. And that, in the long run, serves no one well. You will just be shooting your own foot in the process.

My Response:

WHAT MAN!! wahahhaas. i find this very funny. SEEMS LIKE REPUBLIC POLYTECHNIC'S PUBLIC RELATION is trying to protect the school's reputation in this manner. i hope it is working. but i wonder!!

--- some of my opinion ---

What Republic Polytechnic say:

As a precautionary measure to contain the spread of H1N1 virus in RP, Year 1 students/ students taking year 1 modules will switch to alternative learning (eLearning) mode, starting from tomorrow 25 Jun 09 to 1 Jul 09

My Response:

why are only the yr 1 students asked to do e-learning? the whole schools should be doing it. not that the cases happens in the yr 1 students then the yr 1 students are asked to stay at home because they are worried that the germs are passed to them.

For the reader's information, the school is 90% airconditioned. didn't the school know that the germs will pass around like this? and diden the school thought of, the yr 2 and 3 students actually have a chace of passing by these yr 1 students and get the virus. i am so sorry to say so, but I DUNNO WHAT THE HELL THE SCHOOL ARE THINKING.

the whole school should be asked to quarantined themselves, so that we are able to ensure our safety right. HAISH..

What Republic Polytechnic say:

Some instructions for students doing alternative learning (eLearning) given by the school:

· Although you will be assigned to teams, you are expected to work on your own.

· You be will marked as “Present” to facilitate LEO access.

· You will be given a daily grade but note that the grade will NOT be counted towards the Module Grade. The computation procedure adopted for determining your Module Grade will be made known at a later stage.

My Response:

the first point is funny. students will be assigened to teams but expected to work on their own.. wahahahas. so sorry to laugh. o0ps. =x

and why are students grades not counted?? den what for the facilitators have to give a daily grade to the students. don't it seems like the students and facilitators are working for nothing?

haish. i really dunno what the schools are thinking. LOL

--- some of my opinion ---

ok.. this is just some of my opinion about the school's response to the H1N1 cases.i am not trying to say that the school responses are weird. just that maybe they can improve it or something. (:
